Kidnappings Make Unwelcome Return to Kosovo

Kidnapping for ransom is a growing trend in Kosovo, while the number of businesses seeking protection for their properties has also increased, Balkan Insight can reveal.

Since July, a series of high profile cases of kidnapping for ransom have emerged, police say. Up until October this year, police have noted 31 cases registered as kidnappings, out of which four were for ransom and the rest involve grabbing someone’s bag in the street. In 2009 the total number was 38, according to police.

The latest case involves an elderly millionaire from western Kosovo who was taken from his car on the main Pristina to Peja highway, not far from his house, on September 22, a source in the Kosovo police told Balkan Insight.

The source explained that the family of the 80-year-old man has received phone calls from his kidnappers who have demanded millions of euros in ransom.

The police report shows that six persons have so far been arrested in connection with the kidnapping. Four are former members of the Kosovo Liberation Army, one is a member of the Kosovo police and the last is wanted by Interpol on unrelated charges.

The investigations are ongoing and an additional three persons have been identified as suspects, though they are still at large, according to the police source.

Since July, several other cases point to a worrying trend.

In October, police arrested a person who threatened five businessmen via mobile phone in the town of Ferizaj, asking them to pay sums ranging from €15,000 to 40,000.

In July, police arrested six people in Pristina for the kidnapping of two people. The kidnappers had demanded €180,000 for the release of the six.

And on August 7, a 14-year-old boy, the son of a businessman from Mitrovica, was kidnapped by two unknown persons and ended up in Austria. He was sent back home after several days.

The biggest private security company in Kosovo, Balkan International, told Balkan Insight that in recent months it has seen an increase in requests from businessmen to better secure their properties.

Besnik Berisha, owner of the company, said that when it comes to bodyguard protection, the businessmen still usually employ family members.

Ramadan Qehaja, head of Pristina’s Centre for Security Studies, said that the kidnappings should be a top political priority in Kosovo as the trend is becoming a “major concern for Kosovo society”.

Bekannt sind im Kosovo hier (neben NGO Gestalten und aus der Rot-Grünen Patei) vor allem Roland Bartestko!

Wie dieser BKA Bericht gut darstellt, was Deutsche so trieben, wobei die Erfüllung sexueller Wünsche ganz oben stand ! Bei den Profil Neurothiker der Diplomaten, Aufbau Helfer war man wie hier erwähnt wird auch schnell bei der Super Mafia, im Drogen Geschäft, bei Morden, Visa Beschaffung und Geldwäsche gelandet. Immer dabei auch bei Sokol Kociu, dem Welthungerhilfe Mafiosi Andreas Horn (war dann 2005 Leiter in Afghanistan) und Deutsche Ehefrauen und deren Dritt klassige Verwandschaft. Die gesamte Verwandtschaft der extrem kriminellen Clans, sind heute unverändert in Deutschland.

Anscheinend gehört die ganze Spitze der DUI, diesem kriminellen Verein an, welche zum eigenen Profit, die Anschläge in Coordination mit Bin Laden Leuten damals in 2001 inzenierten und mit den durchgeknallten MPRI US Kriminellen, welche direkt von Joschka Fischer sogar einen Frei Fahrt Schein, für Waffen und Drogen in Deutschland erhielten.

Auch noch als Serbischer Spion enttarnt: Ali Ahmeti, Anführer der Bin Laden Terrorsiten Horden in 2001 in Mazedonien
Die Story ist 10 Tage alt, wurde aber nun überprüft, so das man Selbige bringen kann.

Macedonian Officials Receive Serbian Spy File

The head of Macedonia’s Lustration Commission confirmed today that it has received a file alleging that a prominent Albanian leader was a Serbian spy, and that it is now up to the secret services to verify the file’s authenticity.

Details from the file, published by Macedonian daily Dnevnik, were strikingly similiar to the biographic details of Ali Ahmeti, the leader of the junior ruling party Democratic Union for Integration, DUI, and a former rebel leader.

“Since the file is a photocopy, and we need originals to proceed, today we will ask the [Macedonian] Security and Counter Intelligence Agency, the State Archive, the Intelligence Agency and the Military Intelligence Service to give us originals if they have any,” Adziev explained.

The “Ibar” file will be treated in the same manner as the three files that the Commission received last week, codenamed “Uncle”, “Mother” and “Archer”, Adziev said.

Media speculate that these files also implicate high-ranking officials from Ahmeti’s party, the Democratic Union for Integration, DUI.

In the previous three cases “we have already received a reply from the [Macedonian] State Archive and the Intelligence Agency that they do not have the originals of these files,” Adziev explained.

On Tuesday, Macedonian daily Dnevnik published details from a file about an Albanian codenamed “Ibar” who worked as a spy for the Serbian secret service in the 1980s and 1990s during the rule of the late strongman Slobodan Milosevic

“Ibar” was given a passport under the name Aleksandar Antic, born on January 4, 1959 in Skopje with the address Bul. JNA 201in Belgrade. The data about the issuing of the passport were listed as a state secret.

One document in the file reveals that the secret services suggest that “Ibar” be listed as an employee of the companies Genex or Progres, “depending on the current circumstances”, to cover his work as a spy for over nine years. With that he would be granted a pension, the document says.

The details in the published article sent shock waves through Macedonia.

“These are all fabrications,” Talat Xhaferi, a DUI lawmaker and member of the party’s general council, told Balkan Insight on Thursday.

“We can not pinpoint who or what kind of centers of power may stands behind them”, he said. He argued that the party will let the authorities determine the truth.

In an interview for Radio Free Europe’s Macedonian language section on Thursday, Ali Ahmeti said that the files were “worthless pamphlets”, and the public “should remain calm” as it waits for the authorities to investigate the cases.

Mit auf der Liste: die UCK und ihr Ableger UCPMB. In den USA inzwischen verboten, in Deutschland nach wie vor Alltag. Spendensammeln für die UCK. Das Zentrum für die albanischen Muslime in Düsseldorf. Das unscheinbare Haus im Hinterhof gilt als eine der Spendenzentralen der UCK in Deutschland.
