Podgorica - Montenegro stellt offiziell den Antrag auf einen Beitritt zur Europäischen Union. Einen diesbezüglichen Beschluss fasste die Regierung des kleinen ex-jugoslawischen Adria-Landes, berichteten die Medien am Freitag in der Hauptstadt Podgorica. Regierungschef Milo Djukanovic werde am kommenden Montag in Paris dem französischen Präsidenten Nicolas Sarkozy, dem amtierenden EU-Ratsvorsitzenden, das Beitrittsgesuch überreichen.

Montenegrin PM’s ‘Family-Owned’ Bank Asks For State Bailout

PODGORICA — The First Bank of Montenegro, which is partly owned by the Montenegrin prime minister and his two siblings, is asking for a 40 million-euro ($50 million) bailout from the government.

Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic owns about 3 percent of the bank, while his brother, Aco, owns about 30 percent. Their sister, Ana Kolarevic, owns a 1 percent share.

Opposition leaders and NGOs have been critical of the request, saying it’s a blatant example of conflict of interest.

But Montenegrin Central Bank spokeswoman Radica Zekovic told RFE/RL’s South Slavic and Albanian Languages Service that the First Bank of Montenegro is not foreign-owned and has a legitimate claim to receive money from the government during the difficult situation caused by the global financial crisis.

Most other banks in Montenegro, Zekovic said, are owned by foreign banks and have received aid from those larger foreign banks.

Dutch-based MNSS B.V, the majority stakeholder in Montenegro’s sole steel plant, says it will launch legal proceedings against one of the country’s largest banks for delays in processing payment. Prva Banka is owned by Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic’s brother Aco.

MNSS said in a statement it will order the transfer of cash deposits in Prva Banka totalling €26.5 million to Dutch-based Fortis Bank because Prva Banka failed to execute its payment orders.

The London Daily News says that it has discovered that former gunmen of the separatist Albanian government now in Kosovo are the dominant professional assassins in London offering to kill any target for as little as 5,000 pounds.

“The London Daily News has discovered that professional Albanian assassins are ‘touting’ for business in the capital claiming to be able to ‘take out’ targets for as little as £5,000,” writes London Daily News.

London Daily News says that their undercover investigation has revealed that the former ethnic Albanian separatist gunmen who were killing Serbs to make Kosovo independent have now moved to London where they are “formidable figures in the London’s underworld”.

The experience in killing Serbs in Kosovo has made these Kosovo Albanian gunmen the most able assassins in London.

“Experienced users of guns and knives the Albanians are one of the most able assassins in London,” write the paper.

The paper quotes a leading Albanian gangster who told the paper that “‘We can use guns, we control the prostitutes in Soho and we are investing in London heavily. We fear no one and the law cannot do anything to stop us.’”

Recent intelligence report by Serbian secret service says that the ethnic Albanian separatists in Kosovo are using the prospects of violence to pressure the international community to give them more recognitions for their illegally declared independence.

The London Daily undercover investigation found that for 5,000 British Pounds the Albanian assassins will kill anyone and also offer a choice of killing either with a gun or a knife.

The London Daily also says that the Europe’s heroin market is controlled by 30 Albanian mafia families.

“Each of these families control a specific area of Kosovo which is the main transit point for all drugs,” writes the paper.

The ownership of the heroin European market, according to police sources from a dozen European countries is in the hands of 30 Albanian mafia families. Each of these families control a specific area of Kosovo which is the main transit point for all drugs.

The Drenica area, which goes through Prizren, Klin and Istok connects Montenegro and FYROM is controlled by the Drenica group whose main profit is drugs, weapons, stolen automobiles, white slavery, cigarettes and alcohol. This mafia is connected with the Albanian, Macedonian, Bulgarian and Czech mafia.

Most influential Albanian families at the moment are Naser Keljmendi, Ekrem Luka, and Redzep Selimi.

Recent FBI report shows that Albanian mafia overtook the Russian and Italian mafia in New York. Same went for several European cities, including London, Berlin and Prague.

The new Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Paul Stephenson will have the added headache of dealing with ruthless well organised international criminal gangs.

14.03.1997 - Operation Libelle

Lage in Albanien am 13. März 1997

Aufgrund sich von Süden über das Land ausbreitender Unruhen, dem sogenannten Lotterieaufstand, brach am 13. März 1997 die gesamte staatliche Ordnung in Albanien zusammen: Der Flughafen von Tirana konnte nicht mehr angeflogen werden. Plünderungen hatten auch die Hauptstadt Tirana erfasst. Das Leben der im Land verbliebenen ausländischen Staatsbürger war akut gefährdet.

Das Auswärtige Amt hatte bereits am 11. März 1997 alle Deutschen in Albanien aufgefordert, das Land zu verlassen. Italien hatte bereits erste Luftevakuierungen durchgeführt. Ein Transfer deutscher Staatsbürger auf dem Landweg Richtung Adriaküste war am 14. März 1997 vormittags nicht mehr möglich. Für sie und Staatsangehörige anderer Nationen in Obhut der deutschen Botschaft blieb nur noch die Luftevakuierung. Da alliierte Kräfte nicht unterstützen konnten, beschloss die deutsche Bundesregierung unter Bundeskanzler Helmut Kohl nach Information der Fraktionsvorsitzenden der Parteien im Deutschen Bundestag und der Obleute des Verteidigungsausschusses, den Einsatz zur Evakuierung durchzuführen.

  • drei Transportflugzeuge vom Typ C-160 Transall werden gegen 07:00 Uhr in Landsberg bereitgehalten (24 Soldaten einschließlich 6 Sanitätern).
  • Um 7:30 Uhr starten deutsche Hubschrauber aus dem SFOR-Feldlager Rajlovac nach Dubrovnik; die “Niedersachsen” liegt vor Durrës.
  • 11:35 Uhr Entscheidung der Bundesregierung zur Evakuierung.
  • 13:45 Uhr die deutschen SFOR-Hubschrauber verlegen von Dubrovnik nach Podgorica, der Hauptstadt Montenegros.
  • 14:00 Uhr Abflug der Transportflugzeuge vom Typ C-160 Transall nach Podgorica.
  • 15:02 Uhr Abflug der Hubschrauber mit Sicherungskräften nach Tirana und Landung um 15:40 Uhr.
  • 16:09 Uhr Letzter Hubschrauber des Evakuierungsverbandes verlässt die Hauptstadt Tirana.
  • 16:09 Uhr Die Operation Libelle ist abgeschlossen.
